Patrycja Walton

Walton studied Craft and Design in 1974-76 in Brockville, Ontario, and then transferred her studies to Alberta College of Art in Calgary 1977-1979 where she studied and graduated in Textile Design. In 1981, she opened a textile studio in Northern Saskatchewan. Employed as Animateur of Arts and Culture, she organized and taught community classes, renovated and created a community exhibition space and directed and participated in the development of seasonal art festivals and events for five years. Upon moving to Montreal in 1985, Walton set up a studio, and furthered her education at L’institut  Simone de Beauvoir, followed by studies at the Visual Arts Center in Westmount.

Alongside an artists modelling career, she managed the Modèle Vivant sessions at Les Foufounes Éléctriques for 3 years, participated in Peinture en Direct (live painting performances) and in 2004-2005 became one of the founding members of Sauvons L’usine in the battle to save the Grover building, which housed studio spaces for over 300 artists, from being sold for condominium construction.

Walton has exhibited widely and works can be found in both private and public collections in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, USA, France and Switzerland. Walton is represented by David Astrof Fine Arts and works in her studio/office in the infamous Grover Building in Montreal.
